answers for 19-20

1. He is calm but scared about building his second monster. But he is glad that henry came with him.

2. Victor went to Scotland to work on the second monster and to leave Henry because he doesn't want people to know about building a monster.

3. Victor rents a small cabin in Scotland to work on his monster on a small island. He feels that he shouldnt be creating another creature after all the trouble the first one made.

4. Victor feels that making the monster was a mistake and should never have created it. I agree because I think Victor never should have made him in the first place because its immoral to make a life out of nothing.

5. After Victor realizes all the negatives of creating another monster he destroys it in front of the first one.

6. The creature says he will get revenge on Victor's wedding .

7. Victor destroys his makeshift lab because he doesn't want to leave any evidence.

8. When Victor makes it to land some irishmen find him and take him away because they think he had something to do with a murder.

answers for 17-18

1. Why does the creature say he is malicious? Do you think his feelings are justified and or understandable?

-He says he is malicious because he feels and has a good reason that all mankind hates him and he feels lonely. I agree with him and his feelings, after all Victor did abandon him.

2. Why does the creature think he will be happy with a female like himself? Do you agree with him? Explain why or why not?

-He wants a companion like himself because he'll have someone that wouldnt be scared of him and be able to relate to him. And i do agree with him because he is one of a kind in a bad way and need someone to communicate with.

3. Describe Victor Frankenstein’s reaction to the monster’s request. What does he decide? Do you agree with his decision? Why or why not?

-His reaction was anger at first when the monster asked Victor to make a second creature, probably because of all the trouble his first monster caused. I agree with Victor's choice to create a second creature for his first one after his creature agreed to leave civilization because Victor thinks it will get him out of his hair.

4. Why does Victor decide to go to England? How does he feel about Henry going with him?

-He goes because he finds that there are some people that have found out what he needs to build another creature.He doesn't really want Henry to go with him but in the end is happy that he came.

5. Explain the following statement Victor makes: “But through the whole period during which I was the slave of my creature, I allowed myself to be governed by the impulses of the moment.” Give examples of how this is true.

-By this he means that he stops dwelling on the past and move on from all the bad things that happened.

6. How is Henry a Romantic? Explain

-Henry is a romantic because everything he does is in spitof something or because all his actions are influenced by other events. Like if someone died he would want to avenge them or if there was a war he would go fight for his country because it was considered "romantic".

answers for 15-16

1. Overall, what is the creature’s reaction to the cottagers?

-The creature loves the cottagers a lot, although I do not think that they show this affection towards him.

2. What is the creature’s reaction to Milton's poem Paradise Lost? According to the creature, how is he both like and dissimilar to Adam?

-I believe that he likes the poem 'cause he feels that he is connected to the writing in some ways, he feels that he is like Adam because he was created, and after a while, he was left by his creator! Like Adam was after Eve and him ate fruit from the tree.

3. What does the creature learn from papers found in Victor’s pocket?

-He learned about how he was created and about his studies, but most importantly, he learned where Victor comes from.

4. For what does the creature hope, and what plans does he make to achieve this hope?

-I believe that he deeply wants to show himself to the cottagers and become part of their family, he plans to show himself to the father because he is blind and will not be afraid of him.

5. How does the old man react to the creature?

-The creature rushes, and instead of revealing himself slowly, and gaining their trust, he reveals himself, and scares the cottagers.

6. What happens when the others return?

-They move, because Felix fears that his father's life is in danger.

7. How does the creature feel? What does he wish he had done? What is his next plan?

-The creature feels deeply depressed because the cottagers are afraid of him, and that was not his intention. He wishes that he had planned more, so the cottagers learned to accept him as their friend. He now plans to leave to Geneva so he burns down the cottage and leaves.

8. What happens to the cottagers? What is the creature’s reaction to this?

-The cottagers leave, and after they leave, when they do not return, he burns down the cottage to relieve the anger within him.

9. Why does the creature decide to go to Geneva? How have these horrible circumstances changed the creature?

-The cottagers leave, but he wants to confront his creator. He feels mad at humanity.

10. What happens that makes the creature feel even more bitter?

-He saves a little girl from a river, but her father comes along and he shoots him while running away.

11. Why does the creature kill William? How does the creature feel afterward?

-He murders William because he is part of the Frankenstein family. He feels quite triumphant afterwards.

12. What does the creature do with the portrait he takes from William?

-The monster takes the locket and plants it in Justine's Pocket.

13. What does the creature say Frankenstein must do?

-The Creature says that he must create him a mate.
